About Papaw’s Place

Papaw’s Place is a nostalgic Appalachian general store on US-25, halfway between London and Corbin, Kentucky. The property began as an old general store, “Stuckey’s” and later became Laminated Timbers; despite the years passing the building remains the same — the steep A-frame gable, same hand-hewn timber arches sweeping down to the pavemen, but recently updated with a fresh coat of Oak Moss paint. We have filled 2,500 square feet with curated vintage wares, new pantry items, quilts, new and vintage toys, hunting and fishing accessories including fishing tackle, locally sources jams and honey, assorted snacks and drinks, and old woven apple baskets full of loose candy.

It’s built on one idea: that shopping used to feel like something and that something was part of your community. You walked in, somebody knew your name, and you left with a little more than you came for.

4348 S Laurel Rd, London, KY 40744. Right on US-25, halfway between London and Corbin, just down from South Laurel High School and next to the old Chaney’s Lumber yard. Look for the green gable building. Free parking out front, plenty of room for all!

The Five rooms

The Front Porch — rocking chairs, old church pews, and coffee worth sitting down for. A wide array of snacks, candy, sodas and more. No purchase necessary to sit a spell.

Mamaw’s Pantry and Vintage finds — cast iron, local honey and jam, baking mixes, candles, kitchen linens. antiques, old advertising, furniture, and one-of-a-kind pieces that likely won’t be here next week. The kind of things you pass down for generations.

The Fishing & Hunting Lodge — tackle, rods, bait, boots, Carhartt and outdoor gear for whatever season it happens to be.

The Kids’ Room — wooden toys, storybooks, stuffed animals, cast iron farm toys, scooters, bikes, and trikes, and a free treat from Papaw’s Treasure Chest on the way out.

The Clothing room — t-shirts, jackets, camo, hats, belts and more.
